Who's ready for some nature time??
In addition to our online Summer programming we're excited to be offering two camping trips this July, in Colorado and California. Boys and young men ages 11-19 are invited to join mentors from the Rooted Futures team for four days of hiking, games, stargazing, real conversation, and time around the campfire!
The human body, mind, and spirit evolved over thousands of years of sitting around the fire, telling stories, bathing in natural pools and rivers, looking up at the stars, foraging for medicine, communing with and learning from trees, plants, and wild beings. In today's high-tech world, it's easy to lose touch with the natural world, and these events are a chance to unplug from our devices and get back in touch with Nature's rhythms and our own wild selves.
Based on our outings in previous years we know that these will be memorable events, an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones -- and have fun!
We are thrilled to announce local, full-nature-immersive Campouts near several cities in the Summer of 2025! These intimate 4-day gatherings will promote digital detox, skill-building, emotional embodiment, community connection, play, and authentic self expression.
With activities varying from hiking, swimming, cooking, circling, fire-building, storytelling and more, we infuse all of our gatherings with the values and safety standards that allow for deeper trust, honesty and vulnerability.

Around the fire, we shed masks and speak from the gut, the smoke carrying our stories skyward like prayers. In its glow, hierarchy dissolves; no one sits above another. We become witnesses and brothers, letting the crackle of flame reveal what’s been buried, forgotten, or feared. The fire does not demand performance—it asks for presence. Here, boys can burn old versions of themselves and rise into men who are not just strong, but honest, listening, and lit from within.
