Meet Trevor Spring - Host & Co-founder

In this free online session we will cover the basic set of skills we use in our youth mentoring program, and that allow us to build trust, have fun, and engage in real conversations with boys and young men from 9-19.

Even though maintaining a positive relationship with an adolescent boy can be confusing or exasperating, and may even seem impossible, there's a good chance that it's not too late to turn things around. In fact boys want to be met with respect and curiosity, to be truly seen and heard, and affirmed. And when that happens they can be surprisingly communicative, their self-esteem and self-awareness can grow, and they can thrive.

For many of us adults, we were not fully met in these ways during our own youth, so it can take a deliberate effort to cultivate these skills and qualities.

Join us at our free webinar on June 6, or visit our website to schedule a free one-on-one call with one of our mentors to learn how you and your son can be part of the growing Rooted Futures community!

Core Tenets Of Our Pathmaker Program

Nature Connection

We believe in immersing youth in the natural living world as a way to reconnect to their own inner nature

Life Mapping

We provide young men with the tools required to claim their own usefulness and purpose in the world

Real Talk

We create spaces virtually and physically where young men can be felt, seen and heard in their wholeness

Principles of Mentoring

At Rooted Futures all of our mentors are trained in this simple framework:

We "LAMP"

  • Listen

  • Ask/Acknowledge

  • Model

  • Praise

We Do Not "FRAP"

  • Fix

  • Rescue

  • Advise

  • Project

We listen without judgment, analysis, or critique and give the young men space to express themselves fully.

We are curious and accept them as they are. We lead with questions and reflect their own wisdom back to them.

We raise our own standards and model behaviors we hope they will adopt.

We identify their strengths, even if they’re subtle, and praise them openly.

Who We Are

We are a team of men from diverse backgrounds who are committed to showing up for our communities.

We're passionate about learning and creating together and value the mentorship of young men as a shared mission in the world.
